Seen & Unseen Privacy 24 JULY 2009

Today we are given lecture by Sr. Dr. Illias on Seen&Unseen Privacy. First of all, Dr. Illias told us that even himself also can't really differentiate between seen and unseen. What we actually mean by seen and unseen? Dr. Illias showed us numbers of slide shows starting with the journey of a little poor boy and a little rich boy who both entered USM. What we learned from the whole slide show was we have to think before we act and we need to consider the consequences of every actions we took. It was a large difference on both the poor and rich little boys before and after they enter USM after a year. Although they came from different family background and carrying different dreams, they both changed totally after a year and they even compressed their dreams. Their changes were shown clearly by the design of their appearances. Before we end our lecture, we were told to analyze our own weakness and strength. We might able to see our weakness and strength but we might unable to do so too and that's what seen and unseen means which included our privacy.

Today we learn about existence.But, first of all, why do we exist?What are the rules of existing?
Besides that, there are quoting in the book saying," And I have not created the jinn and the men except that they should serve me." " Dan Aku tidak menciptakan jin dan manusia melainkan supaya mereka mengabdikan diri kepadaku." " 我创造精灵和人类,只为要他们崇拜我."
In addition, there are quoting in the book saying," Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow guardians besides Him, how little do you mind. " "
你们当遵循从你们的主降示的经典, 你们不要捨真主而顺从许多保佑者.你们很少觉悟. "

Futhermore, light can be so many things. Light is a key point for an architecture. And the question is " is structure a good word?" Structure, environment and design are good word. Light must come in the right proportion and not too little or too much. We must remember that a beauty must be calculable and mathematics is important.

CONTENT 2: " My Big Bang !"

"My Big Bang"?? What's that? Many might wonder what it was today and I'm not excepted too until we were further being explained about what it is. It was a group of seniors who are going to conduct an orientation for us during this coming weekend. However, it seems like did not get the full support from all the students as we need to pay RM36 for it. Furthermore, many students are getting to home sick and planning to return home during this weekend and with this orientation, it might spoil their wonderful planning. According to our seniors, we are going to have friendly match against them in futsal , netball and even "tug the war" which is more well known as "tarik tali". We are looking forward for the orientation as it will equip us with what we need as our tools to go through our life here. Somehow, we really appreciate our seniors' sacrification as without their helping hand we won't be able to pass through all the obstacles easily.

9 JULY 2009

Around 5p.m. we all gather at the futsal stadium as what we are told to do so by our seniors. There are matches between the academic staff, lecturers, seniors and even juniors too. It is not about winning at the moment as it is about experiences and memories among us.

10 JULY 2009

Around 3p.m. we were wearing the HBP t-shirt gathering at E48B for the open ceremony. It was attended by our dean and deputy dean. In the dean’s speech, we are told about the 4B and 2P which are image building, self building, team building, capacity building, problem solving and future planning. It was a short ceremony and it ended within an hour. Next, we gather at Dataran Merah around 8p.m. for ice breaking. We were divided into groups and we created our own groups name.

My group’s name is DIVERSITY as my groups members consists of people from different races and even different country. Then, we created our cheer and sculpture too. After that we present it to our senior to be judged on it. Although we doesn’t win the first prize we enjoy the night as that was our hard works and team works.

11 JULY 2009

This morning we gather again for an activity called soft landing. We are provided with an egg which we have to land it from third floor without breaking it. My group egg broke as we used the wrong technique but we still enjoy the activity. At night it rain heavily but we carry on with our activity. We have explorace which we get to know our seniors and places in HBP better.

12 JULY 2009

It soon come to the last day of our orientation. Today we are told to practice a performance before we present it tonight during our grand dinner. My group suggested to perform a fashion show and so we are dressed according to different century. During the grand dinner we perform it and it was so amazing. Then it come to the prize giving and the king and queen of the night were selected.

CONTENT 1 : What I read today,06 Jul 2009, 0900-1200."

06 JUL 2009 is my red-letter day. It was the day when we stepped into E48B in which we are being taught on how to read. There is a pathway which started from "intention" leading to "act" which produces the "product". Besides that, there are " actors" following with " rules" and finally the "site". Furthermore, we read through our first semester schedule which we have a rough idea about what we are going to go through the whole semester. After that we are divided into different groups in order to complete our ten projects in this whole semester. I noticed that even just to fill up our name in the list in order to join a group we need to read before we got our pens moved. I believe that eyes are the gift from our God in order to let us read. Although there are people who can't even see the world once they are born, they still can read by using their other sensory organs. Next, we read about "originality vs plagiarism". Plagiarism is defined as to steal and pass off the ideas or words of another as one's own. In addition, we learned about the seriousness of plagiarism when we read through the examples of plagiarism. As such, we must have the intention being not to plagiarize. So, we act by creating our own ideas as there are no two similar products in the world. By doing such, we have our own products. In order to produce a product, we need to have the actors. We play our role while we got to understand others as well. While we are producing the product, we need to toe the line. Regulations have to be followed and rules shall never be broken. Finally is the site. Site play an important role as that's the place where we create our product. Therefore, we understand that the six elements of production play a significant role in development.
